A job search falls apart when you lose track of it. You apply to forty roles. Then a recruiter writes back about one and you can't remember which resume you sent or what the job even was.
A tracker fixes that. This one runs in your browser, saves as you type, then exports to a spreadsheet whenever you want.
| Company | Role | Link | Status | Applied | Next step | Notes |
|---|
Saved automatically in this browser only. Nothing is uploaded. Export to CSV to keep a copy or open it in Sheets or Excel.
What to track for every application
A tracker only helps if the columns are the ones you'll actually need when a recruiter replies. These seven are enough. More than that and you stop filling it in.
- Company and role so you know which job the reply is about.
- Link to the posting, because half of them get taken down and you'll want the original.
- Status: saved, applied, interview, offer, rejected. This is the column you'll scan most.
- Applied date so you know when a follow-up is due.
- Next step, the one thing that keeps a search moving instead of stalling.
- Notes: recruiter name, salary range, which resume you sent.
Use it as a spreadsheet instead
If you'd rather work in a job application spreadsheet, the tool above exports straight to CSV, which opens in Google Sheets or Excel. Or hit "Copy Sheets template" to drop the column headers into a blank sheet and start from there. Same seven columns, your file, offline.
The honest tradeoff: a spreadsheet is portable and yours forever. The live tool here saves as you type and colour-codes status, so you see the shape of your search at a glance. Use whichever one you'll actually keep open.
The thing a tracker can't fix
A tracker records the search. It doesn't move it. Two problems sit underneath every stalled job hunt. Neither is a column.
First, a lot of what you're tracking is dead. Of 551 postings we followed between 16 July and 1 August 2026, 329 had nobody reachable behind them. That's 59.7 percent.
You can log a ghost job perfectly and still hear nothing, because there was never anyone there. Run any posting through our ghost job checker before you spend an application on it.
Second, the applications that are real still need a follow-up. A recruiter reply that goes cold over a weekend is a lost lead. That's the gap Sendout fills. It finds fresh roles, drops the ghosts, files the full application on the company's own system, then emails the hiring person from your own inbox and answers the recruiter when they write back.
The tracker tells you what happened. Sendout makes more of it happen.
Frequently asked
Is this job application tracker free?
Yes, completely. There's no signup. It runs in your browser and saves to your own device. Export to CSV any time to keep a copy in Google Sheets or Excel.
Where is my data stored?
Only in your own browser, on your own device. Nothing is uploaded to us or anyone else. That also means it lives on this one browser, so export to CSV if you want a backup or want it on another machine.
Can I use it as a Google Sheets or Excel template?
Yes. Hit “Copy Sheets template” to grab the column headers and paste them into a blank sheet, or use “Export CSV” to open your logged applications directly in Sheets or Excel.
What should I track for each job application?
Company, role, the posting link, status, the date you applied, your next step, plus a notes field for the recruiter name and salary. Those seven cover what you'll need when someone replies. The tool above uses exactly these.
Does Sendout apply to the jobs for me?
Yes, that's the paid product this free tool comes from. Sendout finds fresh roles, filters out ghost postings, completes the real application on the company's ATS, then reaches the hiring person and handles the recruiter reply from your own accounts.
