Sendout vs Jobscan (2026)

These two barely overlap. Jobscan makes one application stronger. Sendout makes the applications happen.

Updated 2026-08-04 · written by the Sendout team, who built the tool this page is about

Jobscan is a resume optimisation tool. You paste your resume and a job description. It scores the match and shows you which keywords the posting wants that your resume doesn't currently carry.

It's built for getting through automated screening.

That's a genuinely useful thing to be good at because a resume the parser cannot read is a resume no human will ever be handed.

Sendout starts after that. It finds openings posted in the last few hours, drops the ghost listings, fills the full application on the company's own system and reaches the hiring person from your own email and LinkedIn.

So the useful question isn't which is better. It's which half of your search isn't happening.

A resume that scores 92 percent against a posting nobody is filling hasn't achieved anything at all and no amount of further keyword tuning will change that outcome by even a single reply.

Where Jobscan wins

We're being straight about this. A comparison where the author always wins is an advertisement.

Pick Jobscan if you're already applying steadily and think the resume is the bottleneck.

Where it stops

The two tools sit at completely different points in the same pipeline which is why comparing them feature by feature produces a confusing table while comparing them by which bottleneck you actually have produces an obvious answer in about a minute.

A resume that's been tuned until the parser adores it still has to reach somebody with the authority to schedule an interview and no amount of keyword density arranges that meeting on its own behalf.

Prices move on both sides and they move often. Check their pricing page and ours instead of trusting a number in an article.

Check the posting first

A resume score only matters if somebody reads the application.

Of 551 postings we tracked from 16 July to 1 August 2026, 329 had nobody reachable. That's 59.7 percent. Only 7 showed a live hiring signal.

Optimising a resume for that pool is careful work aimed at an empty room.

Our ghost job checker runs that test on any link, free. The study is in the Ghost Job Index.

What makes Sendout different

Three things. They happen to be the three biggest complaints people have about every other tool in this category.

When a recruiter replies, the conversation lands in one inbox. You can take over any thread with a click. You show up to the conversations. Sendout does the busywork.

The honest bottom line

They solve different problems and they work together fine.

Use Jobscan when you're getting screened out and you need to know why. Use Sendout when the applying itself isn't happening.

Not sure which? Look at last month.

Count how many applications you've actually sent and then count how many of them came back with any human response whatsoever because those two numbers together tell you which half of the problem is really yours.

Plenty of applications and no replies points at the listings and the missing human contact. Very few applications sent at all points at the time cost, which is the half Sendout removes.

Frequently asked

Does Jobscan apply to jobs for you?

No. It scores and improves your resume against a job description you supply. Finding the roles, filling in every form and contacting anyone at the company all stay yours to do. That's the main practical difference between the two.

Can I use Jobscan and Sendout together?

Yes. They fit together cleanly. Jobscan sharpens the resume before you send it anywhere. Sendout then uses those same materials to apply on real ATS forms and reach the person doing the hiring. Neither interferes. Sendout works entirely from your own accounts and the employer's own system.

Is a high ATS match score enough?

It helps you clear automated screening, which is necessary but not sufficient. If the requisition isn't being filled, or nobody opens the portal, the score changes nothing. That's why filtering the listing matters alongside it.

What does Sendout cost?

Starter is $9.99 a week and covers email and LinkedIn outreach plus conversations. Pro is $15.99 a week and adds automated applications on real ATS forms. Pause or cancel any week.
