Sendout vs ApplyGhost (2026)
This is the closest comparison on our site. Both reject the spray-and-pray model, both tailor every application. The split is what each one does after the application is filed.
Updated 2026-08-03 · written by the Sendout team, who built the tool this page is about
The honest summary. ApplyGhost is a quality-first auto-apply agent aimed squarely at tech roles.
If you're a software or product or design or data person, it's aimed at you specifically.
By their own site they find roles matching your experience. They tailor every application and submit for you. A dashboard tracks the pipeline.
They offer 10 free applications with no credit card. They also say the product was built by an engineer who applied to 300+ jobs by hand. That origin story shows.
We couldn't load a pricing page on their site when we checked on 3 August 2026. So we're not going to state their prices. Check their site.

Where ApplyGhost is the better pick
- You're in tech and you want a tool that only does tech. Focus is real value. A narrower matcher usually beats a broader one on its own turf.
- You want to try more before paying. 10 free applications is more generous than most first looks in this category.
- You like the dashboard model of watching a pipeline fill up. Theirs is the centre of the product.
Their diagnosis is also just correct.
Every hour you spend filling forms is an hour a faster applicant takes your interview slot. We'd put that on our own homepage.
Where we go further
Two places.
The first is the reason we exist.
The application isn't the end. Sendout emails the hiring person from your own address and messages them from your own LinkedIn, at human pace. Then when the recruiter replies, it answers as you. Availability, pay expectations, scheduling. Anything unusual is handed straight back.
Plenty of tools say they filter dead listings. We keep a first-seen ledger of 4,658 postings and publish the monthly number, including the parts that make us look bad.
Of 551 postings tracked in the last window, only 7 carried a live hiring signal.
Before you compare tools, check the posting
Whichever one you pick, it can only be as good as the listings you point it at.
Of 551 postings we tracked between 16 July and 1 August 2026, 329 had nobody reachable behind them. That's 59.7 percent. Only 7 carried a signal that somebody was hiring right then.
Our ghost job checker runs that test on any posting link, free and without a signup. The full study is the Ghost Job Index.
What makes Sendout different
Three things. They happen to be the three biggest complaints people have about every other tool in this category.
- It works from your own accounts. Applications and outreach go out from your real email and LinkedIn. Human pace. Your voice. Your reputation carries them, not a vendor's server IP. Nothing sprays.
- It fills real application forms. Sendout completes actual ATS applications on Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby and Workday. It answers the open-ended questions in your voice. This is a real submission, not a browser autofill you still have to babysit.
- It filters ghost jobs. Roughly one in five postings is stale or a repost nobody reads. Sendout drops those and pursues live openings where a real hiring person can be reached.
When a recruiter replies, the conversation lands in one inbox. You can take over any thread with a click. You show up to the conversations. Sendout does the busywork.
Frequently asked
How much does ApplyGhost cost?
We won't quote a number. Their pricing page returned a 404 when we checked on 3 August 2026. Inventing a price for a competitor is worse than admitting we don't know one. They advertise 10 free applications with no credit card. You can find out before paying.
Is ApplyGhost only for tech jobs?
That's how they position it. Software · product · design · data. If you're outside those, a general tool fits better. Sendout works across roles, and our live jobs board covers non-tech lanes too.
Which one is higher quality?
On the application itself, we'd call it close, and both of us are arguing against the same spray-and-pray competitors. The measurable difference is scope: they finish at submitted, we carry on to the hiring person and the recruiter reply.
Do both filter ghost jobs?
We can only speak to ours with any confidence. Sendout keeps a first-seen ledger so a repost carrying a fresh date can't hide, kills evergreen listings, and publishes the monthly numbers on the Ghost Job Index.
If a tool tells you it filters ghost jobs, the fair question is whether it will show you the method.
